Some of you might have been bored enough to stay in on Saturday and watch Steve Brookstein win ITV's X Factor show. Unlucky. Still, at least you can smirk in the knowledge that show losers G4 are already worth more than the eventual winner.
Irish judge Louis Walsh told a red-top rag that the poperatic four-piece will sign a deal with Sony worth more than the £1m Steve got for winning. Your mum will be pleased. They covered Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody', you know.
And should, probably, be shot for what they did to it.

Funny how the three judges all had one act left each in the final three acts. Funny how those acts were the ones that got the most attention in the opening shows. Funny how Cowell, Walsh and their ilk have been allowed to bring pop music to its knees with their relentless commercialisation, cash-ins and bland, cynical karaoke bullshit.

I had a couple of placements with them, as well as doing the odd live review and interview,then they went and disappeared into the ether -'tis a Shame Alan and Matt were solid guys.
I was never a big cog in their operations - they were too much of a clicky group - why do you ask Diver?

I ask cos I wrote for them for ages - from early on through til, as you say, they disappeared into the ether. Still in touch with Mr Brown, though.
Don't recall seeing a review or owt by yerself, but then again I've not read through them for, well, ages! Have a stack of 'em at home... will check you out.

Off the top of my head, there's an interview i did with Sonara in one of the issues from a couple of summers ago ( i think) - a lot of my stuff ended up on the website - again, thinking off the top of my noggin, there's my reviews of REM's greatest hits, Machine Heads TTAOE, and a few others - it's been a while since i flipped thru my clippings. A bit off the subject, what is Matt up to nowadays? is he still down in Soton?

But while Thom Yorke doesn't own the publishing rights to radiohead's back catalogue, he does own "paternity rights" which means he gets a say in whether "Anyone can play guitar" is used on a butter commercial...and, more importantly, whether G4 can cover creep.

I watched Strictly Come Dancing instead. Better looking, classier women wearing sophisticated but sexy dresses? Top notch. Plus, Brucie Forsyth is a legend.
