The Stereophonics have named their new drummer – and it’s not him from the Ordinary Boys.
Javier Weyler, an Argentinian by birth, will be joining the band. Previously he’d worked with the band on demo sessions for their last record. He replaces Stuart Cable (pictured right) who left last year.
Stereophonics’ fifth record, named ‘Language. Sex. Violence. Other?’ will be out March-ish next year.

They do feel like they have been around for far too long. Probably cos they sound like rejects from Rod Stewart's backing band. If we stop posting things about them maybe they'll take the hint and fuck off.

stereophonics do have some good tunes in their bag, and are a good live band. and i'm not ashamed to say that

I've seen the Stereophonics...I thought they were fucking awful. Previous to that gig I'd just felt indifferent...now in place of indifference there is seething hate.

I have mixed feelings. Loved the first album. Liked the first single off the second, then it sort of went downhill. The Cardiff Castle gig (after the first album) was a particularly fond memory. The Morfa Stadium gig (after the second) wasn't too bad, apart from all that 'As Long As We Beat The English' bilge.
Then they were boring as you like headlining Reading - they had to stop the set because of a crush at the front, and a muted Kelly said 'we've got an album of slow stuff coming out next year' as though to say 'don't worry, crowd surges won't be a problem in the future'. And it has all been downhill ever since.

I'm sure anyone with any sense disagrees, but you've made your opinion pretty clear.
Sterophonics used to be my favourite band, when i was about 12.
The the first album is vaguely interesting still, but the rest is utter shite.
I've somehow managed to see them 3 times, one time because i wanted to see feeder support, the rest were just free tickets, I can honestly say that the others, especailly their last milenium stadium gig will be remembered as some of the most tedious, broing moments of my life.
Stuart Cable was the best thing about that band too.
And it doesnt help that Kelly Jones is a cunt.

No one's picked up on this yet, but I just don't like this new guy's hair. It's full of frizz. He needs some good hair products.
