Camera Obscura: new single, August dates

Frankly wonderful Scottish outfit Camera Obscura are to release a new single, 'Let's Get Out Of This Country', on September 4; it's taken from the already-out album of the same name.

The single will be available on the formats of compact disc and seven-inch, as well as download, through Elefant. B-sides include 'Lemon Juice And Paper Cuts', 'Return To Send Her' and 'Modern Girl', across the formats.

Traceyanne Campell takes her merry men and women on a wee jaunt in August (and September), taking in a few festivals...

August
11 Inverness-shire Belladrum Festival
13 Leicester Summer Sundae
18 Belfast Island Arts Centre

September
3 Glasgow Indian Summer Festival

i think i like this band

you know.

Inverness-shire

does not exist.

Return to Send Her...

... is a fantastic track - it's been knocking around as a Peel session track for a couple of years. Will be good to finally hear a studio version. It's also a great play on words. Nearly as good as the Mirror's Roo-turn to Sven-der headline...

it hasn't been

Inverness-shire since 1983. Yes, I am in a pedantic mood.

can't wait to see them at belladrum :)

simply...

HURRAH !

Pedantry is not a mood, it is a way of life.

and another coloured elefant 7" too.

Tyne & Wear does not exist anymore either

Yet I got a thingy through my door yesterday saying I can now ring a new number for 'non-emergency' police as I live in 'Tyne & Wear'.

Even more bizarre as I live in County Durham.

I'm also in a pedantic mood. Great, innit?

Heh

An indian summer festival in Glasgow? Never heard of that before...

Heard

one of their tunes on Lamacq. I must say that i thought it was very good indeed. Charming, nonchalent, well sung and performed and with interesting and excellent production.

Chamone!

I'm going!

It's gonna be greatttt.
