The folks at Joyzine have organised a Love Music Hate Racism festival, Joyfest (click for info/ticket details), to be held at London's Hackney Ocean on Aug 14th and 15th, and they're looking for an unsigned band to open the second stage on the 14th...

If you want to play you'll have to be quick, as the deadline for demos is Aug 9th (this Monday!). Send your band's CD and contact details to:

International Karate Plus :D It'd be worth going just for them! For anyone who doesn't know they're a new band from a couple of guys who used to be in Mo*Ho*Bish*O*Pi :)

Mo*Ho*Bish*O*Pi/ Karate plus....yes.....my faves.Thats what they call oldschool now even tho they were arounf like 4 years ago. The kids wouldnt know em!

THEY WERE NOT ON THE LINEUP I WAS GIVEN. Blame the organisers if you have a problem with that, not me.

Great lineup, but where are The Fucks & Luxembourg? Best bands on the London circuit by miles. Shame. Mind you, Lux being listed on DiS as folk/jazz is hilarious!

Hi Adie,

Cheers for running the competition on Drowned in Sound for us, we had so many good entries that we couldn't narrow it down to one band per day, so we added in an extra slot on each day to allow us a little more choice.
