Iceland Airwaves 2007: check out the DiS blog
Britain - London, anyway - might be enjoying some autumnal sunshine right now, but spare a thought for DiS’s Rob Webb, Gary Wolstenholme and Shain Shapiro as they board a plane for the dark and icy surroundings of Reykjavik for the annual Iceland Airwaves festival. Think of them, huddled, freezing… actually, don’t: they’ll be inside most of the time, enjoying a slew of top-notch bands from the world over. The bastards.
Airwaves starts today, and the full line-up can be found at the official website here. DiS expects to catch !!!, Slow Club, Annuals and more, but we’re most excited about our own night on Friday at the Icelandic capital’s Gaukurinn venue. Line-up:
20.00: Weapons
20.45: Sudden Weather Change
21.30: Jan Mayen
22.15: Reykajavik!
23.00: Deerhoof
00.00: Jakobinarina
01.00: I Adapt
01.45: Æla
You can follow DiS’s adventures at Airwaves on a live blog, updated with words and pictures daily. Just click HERE. Enjoy, and keep an eye out for the review proper in the coming weeks.
