The Marsupials answer back

Koala formed in Lichfield, Staffordshire in the Summer of 1997 when school

friends, Martin Cadwallader (Guitars, Vocals, Keyboards), Tim Paul (Keyboards,

Programming, Vocals) & Gareth Evans (Bass, Vocals) began writing &

recording songs. In 1998 the band upped sticks and shifted to Birmingham to live

in a big house just like the Monkees. In late 98/early 99, the band went into a

studio in Tamworth to begin recording their debut EP. That was Super-Rotunda. In

late 1999 Koala acquired Daniel Strittmatter, ex drummer of the High Llamas, and

Ian McNabb, and began recording their second collection of tunes 'Solid Gold

Selection', which was finished in early 2000. They've recently moved to the

"Big Smoke" and will play a gig next Tuesday (28th November) at

the Half Moon, Putney. Make sure your there to check out their lovely "Psychedelic

Power Pop" and to see the "TheSuperKoalaStereoSurroundSoundSystem"

in action.
