Right then, it is June! Which means at some point in the next few weeks it will be the middle of the year. A lot of June's releases are already online or various tracks from them are, so I thought I'd start the annual half-year thread in earnest (though last year it started in May).

This isn't a 'voting' thread, although maybe it'd be fun to do that at the end of the year, it's more a chance to ramble on about records you've been loving and things you feel more people should have checked out, and maybe should do so when the release schedule calms down a little in the coming weeks. Or share a playlist or link to your blog post with some of your favourites. Or to moan that it hasn't been a very good year for music so far if that's (really?) how you feel.

p.s. rather than just throwing out one big list, perhaps you could pop back every few days with a small cluster of recommendations and an intriguing sentence or two to lure people into listening? Just a thought. There are NO RULES.
