Okkervil River to release new album in October
Posted: 02 Jun '08, 16:11
Something to look forward to post summer; October 13th sees Okkervil River’s new full-length album released.
Entitled The Stand Ins, the record will be available in the UK via Jagjaguwar. The album is the sequel to 2007’s much fawned-over The Stage Names.
We're duly informed that The Stand Ins was recorded in Austin and produced by longtime collaborator Brian Beattie and Okkervil River. The album features 11 songs and includes the track 'Lost Coastlines', on which Sheff and recently departed Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater share a duet "on the joys and hardships of trying to keep the band together."
Bawl your hearts out at the following shows this summer and autumn.
July
18 Bristol Trinity Centre
19 Truck Festival
20 Latitude Festival
November
5th Norwich Waterfront
6th Manchester Academy
7th Dublin Academy
9th Glasgow Oran Mor
10th Wolverhampton Wulfrun
11th London Shepherds Bush Empire
12th Brighton Concorde 2

The bassist told my mates at ATP
it was going to be called "Standards", but then he cracked up laughing and told us he'd just done acid. I'm quite impressed he almost got it right.
