Album Stream: dEUS' Tom Barman and CJ Bolland's 2nd Magnus LP
derekrocks by Derek Robertson August 28th, 2014

As readers of our recent dEUS profile will know, Tom Barman is a multi-talented chap. Not content with fronting one of the most under-rated and influential alternative rock bands of the last twenty years and pursuing an alternative career as a filmmaker, he’s also finally found the time to record another album as Magnus, alongside legendary producer and DJ, CJ Bolland.

Ten years after debut The Body Gave You Everything, they’re back with Where Neon Goes To Die, a slow-burn collection of retro-futurism that swings from late-night hypnotic dance to glistening, Euro-pop stomps. Inspired by a quote from the late comedian Lenny Bruce, the album features guest performances from Editors’ Tom Smith, French singer Mina Tindle, Millionaire’s Tim Vanhamel, and a host of other eclectic talents.

This time round, they’re also planning a series of shows with a five-piece band that promise to be somewhat spectacular.

Released next week, the album is being exclusively streamed below, so you can listen to their wild-eyed genius for yourself.
