Video Round-up: Sigur Ros, Metric, Hey Sholay, Foals + more!
sean by Sean Adams November 14th, 2012

DiS' inbox is being pummelled with videos at the minute, but these at the pick of the bunch that we thought you might wanna fill your eyes and ears with...

Hey Sholay

To kick things off, we have a premiere of the new video for 'Dreamboat' from Sheffield's answer to the Flaming Lips (well, they do super-dreamy pop with a groggy proggy twist). This track is taken from their debut album ((O)) which was released in a special deluxe edition by Fierce Panda this week.

---

Sigur Rós

Those Icelandic heart-melters have been doing a lot of short film 'things' in 2012, and they just premiered 'Valtari' directed by Christian Larson over on Nowness. The film includes choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and is part of the Valtari Mystery Film Experiment where Sigur Ros invited a dozen filmmakers to create films for tracks from their latest album Valtari.

---

Metric

Earlier this year Metric released their fifth album Synthetica, and they've been on the road pretty much every minute ever since, so it's no surprise to find they've made a video filled with footage from the road for 'Breathing Underwater' (which, for what it's worth, is my favourite track on the new record)

---

Foals

In case you missed this last week, Foals are back, and this time they're grinding grunge to dust...

---

Stereophonics

Weirdly, not too different to that new Foals track, is this gruff new 'Phonics track, which you can grab for free here. Seems like their new LP (Graffiti on The Train - out in March 2013) will be a real return to form. Plus Kelly Jones directed this video:

---

EAUX

Silky beats and a general sense of shimmering is what London-based Eaux do. Grainy. Dreamy. Better-than-most-new-bands-y. This vid was shot on Super 8mm and directed by Douglas Hart (yes, him from The Jesus And Mary Chain).

Blur

Speaking of London bands, these chaps have a DVD of their Hyde Park gig coming out, just in time for Christmas... actually, more than that, it' a 5 CD/DVD Parklive deluxe edition, which will include the "best quality audio of the entire Hyde Park show, exclusive recordings of the 100 Club, BBC sessions, plus our live rooftop performance of Under the Westway and The Puritan, all presented in a 60 page hardback photo book. Available from http://blur.co.uk"

---

of Montreal

Would you like to see a documentary about of Montreal? Well, you better get your arse over to their Kickstarter to help make it happen. Here's the trailer:

---

Anne Meredith

This will bend your brain a little bit...

---

Alis

...and finally, whilst your mind is still reeling in from Anne Meredith, we'll ease your mind and leave you with this intriguing young lady from London (who previously operated under the name Subeena), with a video featuring footage from the NASA archive, which fits perfectly with the sprawling tune...
