Jack White is of course instantly recognisable from his time in The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and most recently in super-uber-group The Dead Weather. He's also the founder and label head of Third Man Records, which goes by the same name as his earlier upholstery business and it's this record label which is the focus of this news piece.
Yes. Third Man Records are to set up their own pop-up records stores in London this week, neatly coinciding with their two London dates at the O2 Academy and The Forum. Obviously by pop-up we mean "using another building as a purchasing place for their wares" not, like in the book sort of sense of the word.
Anyway, the details are the most important thing, so here they are. The stores will be in/at Shoreditch Church in East London. The first day of opening is Friday 30 October and second the succeeding day, Saturday, October 21. On Friday the store will open at 11AM and close at 6PM and on Saturday things will kick off at 11AM and end at the later time of 9PM.
Naturally they'll be a whole host of Third Man Releases as well as miscellaneous merchandise from The Dead Weather, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and other such paraphernalia included T-shirts.
In the past, the label has opened pop-up shops in New York and Los Angeles, taking hold of previously un-used spaces and painting them in the Third Man colour scheme of Yellow and Black. There have also been impromptu gigs at the places...so, fingers crossed this time perhaps.
Catch them in the UK on the following two dates, though one is sold out, so...go for The Forum, if you fancy it.
