One of the festival lineups of the summer has to be that of La Route Du Rock, the French seaside festival taking place in the beautiful historic resort town of St Malo. From 14-16th August, La Route Du Rock will take over the tiny walled city with a beach stage, a casino stage and a castle stage featuring an awesome selection of live music, easily accessible via Brittany Ferries from the south coast.
The centrepiece band are shoegaze titans My Bloody Valentine, with post-rock pioneers Tortoise, and many of this year's most-wanted bands including The Horrors, Deerhunter, Crystal Stilts and Grizzly Bear. Also playing are emerging acts like Telepathe and Gang Gang Dance, as well as The Kills, Bill Callahan, Peaches, Camera Obscura and lots more.
The recently announced London party featured The Horrors, Caribou and BRNLV on DJ duties, with live sets from Anticon's SJ Esau and London trio Internet Forever, at the Luminaire on July 24th. More on this here.
