Probably roughly the same as everyone else on the DiS staff : music (particularly avant-garde, 'post-rock', primitive American folk music, minimalism.) Film - particularly the US indie scene...Linklater, Hal Hartley, Todd Solondz, Jarmusch, French Nouvelle Vague. Politics...Leftism. Anti-globalisation <westernisation> protest.....resistance to corporate colonisation by any means possible. Literature.....mostly American, particularly Faulkner/Burroughs/Kerouac, some French stuff, Balzac et al.
Alternative, avant-garde, primitive, minimalism. Stuff I'm listening to at the moment : Excellent new Low album (Trust - forthcoming on Rough Trade), new Susumu Yokota on Leaf records, The Flaming Lips (album of the year?), Bill Withers live at Carnegie Hall, The Mercury Program, Songs: Ohia, Electrelane, old Stereolab, Stars of the Lid, Boom Bip and Dose One.
I'm quite approachable really, despite what you read above. :-)
