Dartz

Once, Twice, Again!

Label: Xtramile Release Date: 29/01/2007

19824
domgourlay by Dom Gourlay January 25th, 2007

Northeast four-piece Dartz! can't make their mind up whether or not to go down the angular math path taken by the likes of Les Savy Fav or the scratchy post-punk variant more favoured by their fellow anglophile counterparts.

Which is all good so far as these ears are concerned, as it means we get to hear the best of both worlds thrown together in one complex yet instantly danceable tune.

'Once, Twice, Again!' may sound like a clarion cry to a sadomasochist's wet dream, but as a song itself it's more like the second record most of us had hoped The Futureheads would make, or where we think Maximo Park should be heading before the year's out.

Not that it makes much difference either way, as this stands up gracefully in its own right. One hundred and eighhhhtyyy!
