This is a difficult single to review. One the one hand: ’Setting Sun’ is undoubtedly beautiful. Juanita’s voice swoops through the melody like Kate Bush on a heady Valium and Butter Cup Syrup cocktail, and the track builds and falls like a_ Dog Man Star_ waltzer.
On the other: it sounds like The Cardigans covering Lush, circa 1994. The lyrics are indistinguishable, and the lisping vocal style becomes just a tiny bit grating after one too many listens. Plus, the production gloss has wrested any of the howling passion from the track, rendering it ultimately as soulless as Life.

Howling Bells invite fans to a 'Low Happening'
This is better than a 7
and Howling Bells are a wonderful band.
This
is a 9 or 10 for me.
Brilliant track.
I gotta agree with the 9 or 10
This is a really great song, catches a kind of Mazzy vibe w/o being totally opaque. I love this one and "Across the Avenue." I'm really looking forward to their future records.

Yeah, I'd agree, the review was a bit harsh, they're a great band, and this is a great single..!
