It must be great being in Elbow. No pressure, no hype no hipster overload: just a remit to make constantly sparkling torch-pop behemoth songs. And this, their first single from their third LP ‘Leaders Of The Free World’ is definitely one of those.
Over insistent clattering percussion, surgical guitars and Beatles-esque harmonies, singer Guy Garvey** documents the fun of a weekend night out in town, bouncers and all.
It’s hymnal, it’s elegiac, it’s hypnotic, it’s refined chest-beating, it’s simply more of the same excellence from Elbow. Hurrah!

Re: Elbow - Forget Myself
One of the best things at Reading this year. Surprised me as I've never been hugely into them.
Elbow - Forget Myself
Elbow rule.
Elbow - Forget Myself
Fantastic song. B-Sides are fairly good too, though not up to the "Fallen Angel" ones. High hopes about this here coming album.
Elbow - Forget Myself
Excellent single, and the album's bloody awesome too. Better than the last one, and on a par with Asleep in the Back.
Elbow - Forget Myself
Excellent track, pick of the good album for me
