Sanctuary / Without Measure

Label: High Voltage Release Date: 11/07/2005

8800
domgourlay by Dom Gourlay July 12th, 2005

Following on from last year's highly impressive demo, redcarsgofaster have gone and got themselves a single deal that should undoubtedly see them steering the good ship scuzz/punk/lo-fi/electronica side-by-side with kindred spirits Komakino.

This limited edition double a-side (on glorious red vinyl) features the lead track off their demo, the pulsating 'Sanctuary', which sounds like The Cooper Temple Clause being dragged through a hedge by Mark E Smith before being smothered in the Manc-errhhh's Special Brew flavoured vomit.

It's co-habiter 'Without Measure' meanwhile is like all of those Joy Division flavoured bands (Interpol et al) after a dousing of amphetamine sulphate and a few hours guitar tutilege the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez way. In other words, brighter, faster, happier...then it's over.

With only 500 copies available, most of these will probably have been snapped up already. No doubt some mercenary is trying to make a quick buck on eBay even as we speak. Priceless.
