The ‘80s New Wave New Romantic explosion rolls on in America and the latest exports from that stable are San Francisco rock boys Every Move A Picture. Yet they seem to have done it all THE WRONG WAY ROUND - while The Bravery (whom I'm sadly warming to) and The Killers (whom I'm rapidly going off) came to the UK first to ‘break', EMAP have gigged with the UK's so-hot-right-now bands in the USA. A novel approach, I'm sure you'll agree.
"I've seen it all dear", he sings. Some of us may be thinking that way by now, but EMAP sound like the slightly weird cousins rather than the wide-eyed little brother nicking your records (sorry, CDs. Sorry, mp3s). ‘Signs Of Life' is a Duran Duran-dragged-backwards-through-shrubbery badass indiedisco floor-filler in waiting. Expect to get very, very sick of it come the inevitable major label re-release.
Available on 7" only.
