The ‘80s New Wave New Romantic explosion rolls on in America and the latest exports from that stable are San Francisco rock boys Every Move A Picture. Yet they seem to have done it all THE WRONG WAY ROUND - while The Bravery (whom I'm sadly warming to) and The Killers (whom I'm rapidly going off) came to the UK first to ‘break', EMAP have gigged with the UK's so-hot-right-now bands in the USA. A novel approach, I'm sure you'll agree.

Some of us may be thinking that way by now, but EMAP sound like the slightly weird cousins rather than the wide-eyed little brother nicking your records (sorry, CDs. Sorry, mp3s). ‘Signs Of Life' is a Duran Duran-dragged-backwards-through-shrubbery badass indiedisco floor-filler in waiting. Expect to get very, very sick of it come the inevitable major label re-release.
