Mclusky

Alan Is A Cowboy Killer

Label: Too Pure Release Date: 09/09/2002

2303
shadyadie by [redacted] September 6th, 2002

Mclusky have some of the best song titles, lyrics, and kickass tunes you are likely to hear. 'Alan Is A Cowboy Killer' is another suitable feather to their bow but, unless you are some kind of moron, you will already own this track on their wunnerful second album 'Mclusky Do Dallas', yes hmm? 'Alan…', the one that's a bit like the Pixies (quiet/loud bits you see - if in doubt, compare to the Pixies), is a disjointed highlight with great opening lines: "Pull up my pants now the camera crew has gone / In your statement to the police tell them how you turned me on". Mclusky are a band who rock, who obviously don't take themselves quite too seriously, who know how to write great tunes. There are three other grrrrate songs on the CD, including a rerecording of 'Friends Stoning Friends', so go buy, go buy, go buy.
