Good band and everything, The Shins, but on occasion, a misplaced sense of Adult Rock can leave you seriously bored.
Unfortunately, someone over at Big Record Company Towers had the misfortune to select one of said dull-as-shit tracks as the final victory release of their perfectly good third LP, Wincing The Night Away.
The guitars on 'Sealegs' scream ‘thoughtful’, while the bass shouts ‘sensibly underpinned’. The less said about that keyboards that say ‘quite liked Genesis in the 80s’, the better.
The Shins: probably got better songs than this.

Excellent Review!
Pretty much spot on.

wincing the night away is immense and a grower but this is one of the weaker offerings. should release 'red rabbits'
hmpf....
well, i thought it was one of the sleeper "hits" on the album...took a while to sink in but then i loved it. was disappointed when they didn't play it at the forum earlier in the year...
load
of bollocks.
