Members of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip have formed a new project, its name: New Build. The component parts of New Build are Al Doyle, Tom Hopkins and Felix Martin and there's also a guest appearance somewhere along the line for Planningtorock. Their first release is a limited edition 12", released on the band's own Lanark label, which features three tracks. »

Back last week it was announced that Field Music are to release an album early next year, through Memphis Industries and it's that record label which celebrates its 13th birthday this year. This is a premiere of dance-drone post-futurists Factory Floor's new single. It's available as a 12" via the legendary DFA Records on 14th November 2011. It's a song called 'Two Different Ways'. It sounds something like mutant-robots dancing as Fred Dibner blows up a German design museum to make way for a laboratory. And it is awesome, immense and othe-such words to that effect, isn't it? »
Today Peter Broderick releases a 7" of 'Old Time / Solace In Gala' through Erased Tapes, a label which may well have had their finest year to date, with some truly fantastic releases in 2011. TEETH's debut album, WHATEVER, was an overwhelming success. For my money, anyway. It's absolutely bloody ridiculous, but somehow manages to come off in the most extravagant way, and even more spectacularly, doesn't feel remotely garish or horrible. It's fun. They have a new single out on November 21 through Moshi Moshi called 'U R 1'. You can stream that here but there's a Friendly Ghost remix of the track up for grabs, for free. »
