Playing Truant overseas: Brit metallers cancel UK shows for Canadian festival

South-coast metallers of no little noise Johnny Truant have cancelled three UK shows in order to perform at a festival in Canada. Which is a bit rude, no?
The band will not appear in Pontypridd on July 7th, Bridgend on the 8th and Yeovil on the 9th; instead, they'll take to the stage at the Scene Music Festival, alongside the likes of Alexisonfire and City & Color, in St Catherine's, Canada.
The band return to the UK for Download, playing the Snickers Stage on July 10th.
Johnny Truant's two albums to date, In The Library Of Horrific Events and The Repercussions Of A Badly Planned Suicide, are soon to be released in Canda through Dine Alone Records.

i think its
perfectly justified, they are infinitely better than the millions of shit american bands that the scene kids lap up yet get none of the recognition. Maybe they'll do well in canada, good fucking luck i say.
also
they've already toured every little venue in the UK they could find.
So why not play in Canada?
does Canada even have a metal scene - i thought the entire canadian population was split between part-time members of Broken Social Scene and part-time members of bands on Constellation Records?

one of them(the guitaris) was/is on tour with city & colour right now.
city & colour is the name of the solo side project of dallas(city) green(colour, geddit?) from alexisonfire.
he played cardiff barly on sunday night. amazing voice.
I don't like
Johnny Truant. They seem to think they are so much better than they are. Their songs are meandering and frustrating and in any case when performing the rest of the band are drowned out by the vocalist's planet-sized ego.
Canada are so welcome to them.

Thats annoying was looking forward to seeing them in Yeovil.

I think it's fair play, if you were in a band trying to get heard you'd fuck off a couple of shitty brit shows for that kind of opportunity, I know I would!!! but yeah their not that great, mediocre metalcore with sloppy drumming and not many good riffs, the bloodening is there only good song and the rest of there songs sound like bad copies of the bloodening!?
