sean by Sean Adams October 28th, 2002
Anti-people? Anti-Garfunkel? Anti-Dylan? Surely not... Uk tour, yadda, yadda..strange dress..songs about drugs...blah. blah.

The Anti-Folk Tour crashes into the UK in November with a line-up of... Major Matt Mason USA, Kimya from Moldy Peaches, Jeffrey Lews, Dufus, Prewar Yardsale and Toby Goodshank. The order of who plays will change from night to night and DiS will be catching up with Kimya for a chat so if you have any Q's mail them to sara.

The dates are as follows...

NOVEMBER
14th - London, The Spitz
15th - Newcastle, The Cluny
16th - Birmingham, Jug of Ale
17th - Leicester The International Arts Center
18th - Brighton, Komedia
19th - Leeds, (Strangeways Presents) Brudenell Social Club
20th - Hull, Adelphi
21st - Sheffield, Student Union, Fuzz Club
22nd - Glasgow, Barfly
[some irish dates tbc]
28th - Oxford, the Portmahom

We also hear the Moldy Peaches may very well be supporting rough trade label mates LOW in December, but thats still to be confirmed.

If you like this, you might wanna investigate a Compilation Rough Trade put out in September a Compilation titled 'Anti-Folk Vol 1: The definitive NYC anti-folk' which features exclusive tracks from Paleface, Ish Marquez, Brian Piltin, Jeffrey Lewis, Prewar Yardsale, Stipplicon, Joie Dead Blonde Girlfriend, Diane Cluck, Lach, Jim Flynn, Grey Revell, Dufus, Adam Green, Patsy Grace, Brer Brian, Turner Cody, Barry Bliss, Major Matt Mason USA, Kimya Dawson, Rick Shapiro.

And for the Moldy die-hards amongst you...For £1 you can get a extremely limited 8 page literary item by Adam Green from Moldy Peaches! (Or, as Adam himself puts it : "A piece of writing that blends the line between a historical document (a piece of information and insight), a diary, a loosely constructed poem, and an epic comedy. Not to be read aloud!!"). Send a cheque paid to "ROUGH TRADE" or cleverly concealed cash to: ROUGH TRADE RECORDS. 66 GOLBORNE ROAD, LONDON, W10 5PS. roughtrade.com has a note that: "This is a photocopied document. No fancy shit. But the words are gold!".
