Noel blows off, again: British bands are shite
Noel told Triple J that the likes of Franz Ferdinand and the Kaiser Chiefs were shit, and that Bloc Party are the worst of all.
"Don't get me wrong, I kinda like Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs, but Bloc Party are just appalling," said the Oasis man. He continued: "None of them strike me as trying to be in the biggest band in the world or the best band in the world - it's just indie rubbish."
He summarised the outifts in question as "indie shit". Nice.

Today's enlightened Noel quote.......
......was brought to you by the letters M,U,P,P,E and T
because obviously
if you're in a band, then it follows you'd want to be the BIGGEST BAND in the WORLD, because everyone wants to be U2, Coldplay or Oasis, because they clearly represent everything that's interesting, danceable and progressive about modern rock.
yeah and
we all now why british bands are probably so bad eh Noel? have a good hard think about it. though he is right about bloc party not becuase they are derivative with an incredibly bland vocalist its becaused they're not 'classic rock man, like t'roses' etc
Bloc Party will never be like Oasis though
By which I mean in a decade's time Bloc Party won't be playing workmanlike sets of 10 year old songs to remind their audience of a time when they weren't going bald.
oasis may be past it...
but noel is right. they're all shit bands that are content to make drivel.
Diver!
You've lost the news!
What?
like it says ^^
,
Dear Noel,
The fact you want to be the biggest band in the world should be a dream you've long since got over. It disapointed me after What's the Story when you tried to make music which would fit into American radio whilst consuming copious amounts of white powder whilst it and you were going out of fashion quicker than mod haircuits.
It truly disapoints me that someone who could potentially write an interesting pop song decides to write music which will fit into the bland land of modern radio. Have you heard James Blunt and Dido? Do you love the way they're trying to be as dull as possible to sell the most records as possible?
Curious to hear your thoughts.
Love,
Sean

when will it ever end?
get over yourself gallagher
the only way you think you can generate sales for your band is by slagging off every other one
stop being a moaning little bitch
Where is...
the_glory? This argument's no fun without him.
or maybe he was like
'oh, er, well you see m'lady, i'm just a puppet. i don't move until my master moves me.'
HE'S PARKER
I've always said...
Liam and Noel are the Stadler and Waldorf of rock'n'roll.
Kele Okereke is Skooter.
Frankly...
if you're in a band and you don't want to be the toppermost of the poppermost you deserve to be called indie shit.
I've always said...
Liam and Noel are the Chish and Fips of rock'n'roll.
The Stone Roses...
aren't classic rock. Get back to the schmindie ghetto where you belong and leave rock'n'roll criticism to the experts.
Parker was ace...
and he was boffing Lady Penelope off-screen. That's the rumour, anyway. Like Sid James and Barbara Windsor, but with string.
In a decade's time...
Bloc Party will be collecting trolleys outside a B&Q Garden Center in Dunstable. And Oasis will be playing Wembley Stadium.
Dear Sean,
You like Muse.
Love,
The_Glory
I reckon it will end...
when the likes of DiS stop reporting everything Noel says about every Tom, Dick and Harry in interviews on local radio stations thousands of miles away in order to generate more hits for their website. That's just a guess, mind.
Konichiwa
C'est Japonais pour Bonjour.
How right is arr kid?
Maybe he does critise alot of bands but how right is he? Bands are just so boring we need people like the Gallaghers and Doherty et al to keep this boring music scene alive
Why does everyone HAVE to be the biggest band in the world
or did an 'R' fall out of the word after 'biggest'
