Twenty-eleven has kicked off with three months crammed full of comebacks and debut albums which, I dunno about you, but I've been panting trying to keep up.
Twenty-eleven has been delightful so far and we have no idea if we have missed something great but we can only presume that we have (didn't review that massively successful Adele album whoops!) and you probably have missed a few things too.
Twenty-eleven is impossible to pin down in terms trends (Post-RnB? "Nightbus"?) or any sort of consensus as to which are the must hear albums of the year, so far (see this thread for evidence).
Twenty-eleven's release schedule has been both exciting and exhausting and it's only April 1st. If you happen to see Andrzej Lukowski our reviews editor, please buy him a pint and/or a coffee as we can only begin to imagine what a mammoth task keeping abreast of twenty-eleven's release schedule has been.
So, anyway... in a pathetic attempt to discover whether popular things are popular and to see if there is much agreement amongst our readership, we bring you DrownedinSound's very first Facebook poll, to try to discover which are YOUR ("our") favourite releases of the year so far. It's Friday, it takes seconds, and it is in no way scientific, so hop over to http://facebook.com/DrownedinSound and place your vote.
And if you can't access Facebook from your workplace or would rather just blurt out a list below (or do both), you can use the comments section down below (and we'll try to delete all this rubbish spam from China as quickly as we can!).
P.S. here's a Spotify playlist of some of our picks of the year, so far...
- Reich, Radiohead and the Pop-Classical Rift: Steve Reich's Radio Rewrite
- Radiohead, Caribou at The O2 Arena, London, Tue 09 Oct

PJ Harvey...
...Let England Shake. Hands down my favorite thus far.
The Dears - Degeneration Street
Followed closely by Cold Cave - Cherish The Light Years.
My top 3 of the first quarter are...
Bright Eyes, Cut Copy and How to Dress Well.
The Psychic Paramount
Thanks DiS!
Peaking Lights - 936
How is anyone going to make a better album in the next 9 months?
Not possible.
....except for
Ash Borer, self titled cassette. Next level black metal.
PJ Harvey
Nicolas Jaar
Destroyer
Josh T Pearson
How to Dress Well
Elbow
In that order. I think it's been a really strong start to the year. Six albums good enough to make a full-year top ten in most years.
top five so far
Vile's ...Halo, ...Limbs, Angles, Jaar's Space Is... & PJ's ...Shake.
great start.
Peej
by a long nose from Nicolas Jaar and Deaf Center's 'Owl Splinters'...Peaking Lights are coming up from the rear
our Polly...
....by a country mile in a very strong first few months.
