If it seems like a little while since Los Campesinos! furnished us with more details about their upcoming second album PROPER, that's because it is. This time, however, we will not be left wondering what the on earth is going on, as they've announced the album title, tracklisting and release date for it. Hoo-rah!
The album is called Romance Is Boring and, according to frontman Gareth, is:
"A record about the death and decay of the human body, sex, lost love, mental breakdown, football and, ultimately, that there probably isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel."
Sounds fun then. It's released on February 1 2010 through Wichita and will be preceded by a single, 'There Are Listed Buildings' (video below) which will be out November 2.
The track listing is as follows:
- In Medias Res
- There Are Listed Buildings
- Romance Is Boring
- We've Got Your Back (Documented Minor Emotional Breakdown #2)
- Plan A
- 200 - 102
- Straight In At 101

- I Warned You: Do Not Make An Enemy Of Me
- Heart Swells/100-1

In case you're wondering, 15 tracks is in fact the optimum length for any record, so they've got that one sewn up at least. The album was recorded and mixed between March and June of this year in various places - Seattle, Connecticut, Monmouthshire (that's in Wales) with John Goodmanson, who produced it. It also features guest appearances from Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu, Zac Pennington and Jherek Bischoff.
