Future Of The Left's Travels With Myself And Another digitally available NOW

Having proved themselves as adept at telling gags about confectionery as they are at rocking like bastards at last weekend's ATP Vs The Fans, Cardiff's angriest, Future Of The Left, follow up Falco's quite narked blog about their new album leaking of t'other day by making second record Travels With Myself And Another officially available to download, NOW.

Just head over to www.futureoftheleft.com/shop, order a physical copy of the record (not out until June 22), and a shiny new MP3 will wing its way over to you post haste. Maybe quicker, if you are lucky.

Thoughts? Feelings? Reactions? And do these sort of damage limitation exercises in the face of a leak discourage you from illegally downloading?

i think this is the future of album releases

release e-copy first, soon after mastering to dissuade leaking, then follow up with physical copy for those who want it. Ye-es.

This album is excellent

COME ON RICK!

Fucking awesome album.

Future of the Left are the greatest rock band on the face of the planet.

I'm all for this - totally

I think the thing that bands/labels need to focus on is making the physical copy special. If its just a CD with no lyrics, no artwork, just a disc held in place by snappy-off-able teeth then I can see why people would just download it rather than buy it (I don't condone it, but I do understand it).

The idea of paying to get instant access to the music PLUS having a nice package in the post (vinyl copy, artwork, lyric sheets, Tshirt maybe?) is a lot more attractive.

And yes, the record slays.

I think this was a really good idea

to try and combat the leak. And by the time my CD arrives I'll have forgotten about spending the money, so it'll be a great suprise! Purchased. I shall download when I get home :)

am i the only person

for whom their website doesn't work?

This seems rather good after just 2 listens

I expect my LastFM chart to be rather one sided this May.

Website worked fine for me? I hope this does well for them. I'm tired of seeing great British bands I love over the years struggle when they are yet another in a long line of those who quite blatantly shit over 95% of what the rest of the world produces...

They were bloody brilliant in Portsmouth on Wednesday

despite technical issues and low attendance, I felt bad for 'em but they just got on with it and played a blinder, brilliant band. Can't wait to hear this.
