God of noize Kevin Shields has hinted that My Bloody Valentine may complete their aborted third album and/or release some new material at some point.
Following MBV's headline set at ATP New York on September 21st, Shields told the New York Times (here) that he wants to restart work on the band's aborted third album.
He also spoke about those shelved songs: "I realised that all that stuff I was doing in 1996 and 1997 was a lot better than I thought."_ And said once they're done with that they'll begin work on new material.
_DiScuss:** excited? Is seventeen years a bit of a long time to take a break? Are My Vitriol planning to take as long? Praps with hiatus' like this we could see At the Drive-in back in the studio one day? Kevin Shields: genius or over-rated? _

"I just wish we could un-imagine Keane..."
i think 'genius'
gets banded about too much, but sure, he's talented and loveless is as near a 10/10 album as you can get for me.
This new record will never happen.
I fucking hope it will though.
it will still be years before its possibly releseased
during which i wouldnt be surprised if they go back on hiatus again :(
would be brilliant though, not in how nearly as good to loveless it is, but in just what direction they take.
i'm not sure i ever want
to hear anything other than Loveless by MBV (and Glider)
can't quite explain it but it feels like that
well...
a) At The Drive in will never do that (they did more than plenty to begin with and people jumped on the bandwagon for the last album, never gave a shit prior)
b) My Vitriol? they sucked anyway.
argh
a) I agree
b) sod off
Welcome news
Well, I like many are hoping whatever the new stuff is, it's good, but judging by the collaborations, and production work he's done over the past 10 years or so, I'd say KS still has that certain something magical.
