Shady express: Bard on the run

DiS faves Shady Bard (True story - Ed) head out on the road next month in support of their excellent From The Ground Up long-player (review here).

The tour includes a very special performance at the newly reopened Birmingham Town Hall alongside Domino experimentalists Pram and Modified Toy Orchestra.

Those dates in full are:

11 Edinburgh Art College
12 Dundee Westport Bar
14 Newcastle Cluny
15 Birmingham Town Hall
17 Brighton Hope
18 London Metro
19 Bristol Cube Cinema
20 Nottingham Social

Shady Bard have also contributed tracks to two recently released compilations. 'What’s Behind The Door?' appears on the five-track 10” EP 'It Happened On A Day', which is out on The Great Pop Supplement label, while 'Long Term Solutions To The Seagull Problem' appears on Binary Oppositions, a new lo-fi/art project collaboration released on Static Caravan records.

saw Shady Bard supporting iliketrains

I got the impression they had a lot of potential that isn't been realised at this moment in time. I'll watch their progress with interest.

Excellent band

Only played for a scandalous twenty minutes in support of iLT in Sheffield due to one of the other acts (and it wasn't Meat For A Dark Day) overrunning when everyone wanted just them offstage as quickly as possible. I was miffed.

I thought the record...

...was very nice, but live I thought they were outstanding. Tis a shame they're not playing in Cardiff this time round.
