Gelb's new Arizona Amp
Howe Gelb's new Arizona Amp And Alternator project release their debut eponymous album on September 19th through Thrill Jockey.
The record features guest contributions from a slew of acclaimed acts: M Ward, Scout Nibblett, members of Grandaddy and Jeremy Gara of Arcade Fire, to name but a few.
The record preceeds Gelb's next Giant Sand album, slated for an early 2006 release. Most of the ...Alternator was recorded in Denmark and Modesto.

I love Niblett and Ward (a fair bit less than Niblett) and I liked the Giant Sand video they played on mtv2 in the middle of the night once. So I might buy this.

I like the way Howe Gelb looks like a cross between the Mask of Fu Manchu and Dave Navarro.
