Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
- Artists:
- The Jeevas »
- Kula Shaker »
After a whirlwind of board discussion about the alledged nazi practices of former Kula Shaker front man Crispian Mills, we thought we'd let you in on what the man is up to at the moment.
His current band The Jeevas have been working on a new album, which apparently features 'chants, prayers, songs and meditations from India'... a radical departure from his past works, I'm sure you'll agree.
On a slightly more interesting front, Crispian is involved in a new movie titled The Winged Boy. Rumour is that he's involved in the soundtrack of the movie which is being produced by Stephen Fry.
We hope this has answered your queries and you can now sleep soundly underneath your dream catchers.

He wasn't a very clever boy, but the vilification he received was not justified by any means...

The Jeevas are worth checking out. Not really a patch on Kula Shaker, but still an excellent live band. It's more straight down the line Rock & Roll without all the 'Govinda Jiya Jiya Bollocks.' Though for me there is something lacking in their first 2 albums, though apparently their 3rd due after this weird Indian stuff is gonna be the one that brings mainstream success. Then again, they always say that dont they?

Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
Thank you. I can now sleep soundly knowing that a band I loved while growing up is fronted by a knobend.
Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
the svastika is a Hindu symbol meaning rebirth or luck and has been for 1000s of years
It's found in an ancient cathedral in France and on old British war medals if I remember correctly
Nazis thought the original Aryan Hindus found in N.India were the original invaders and so in homage to them, started using the svastika in the late C19 calling it "hooked cross" and Hitler made it their official symbol about 50 years later
Mills was only hiding behind a Nazi facade to take attention away from his 'other' tendencies... DiScuss

What happened to the singer of Marion? Last i heard he was stealing garden gnomes to fund his heroin habit.
Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
I think The Driven did release an album... maybe only in Ireland or on an obscure label or something, but I downloaded an album's worth of material off Audiogalaxy back in the day, and it wasn't the stuff off the EPs. Fucking good, too.

I thought this was going to be a gag about him working in PC World.
Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
Crispin as well? Crispian lives in Bath too doesn't he? Or did you confuse the two?
Crispian Mills did an interview on C4's Planet Sound recently where he went to some lengths to state that he does not have and has never had any far-right tendencies, despite a few pieces of poor judgment that may have indicated otherwise. I do think he's a bit of a plum, but he's not a bad man.

Didn't we have this problem with Carmen Sandiego a few years back?
Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
After a bit of a search a couple of months ago, it seems there was a bit more news of Jaime Harding.
In 2001 he began working with a guitarist called Wayne Ward, and recorded a set of songs for an e.p that was to be called 'Sister', and released under the name Marion. This never happened, but if you look hard enough on the internet, you can find the songs. On the whole, they aren't worth the effort, but for a die hard or completist I suppose they are.
At the end of 2003 he did a live guest spot with a former bandmates band (of which I've expertly forgotten the name), and was looking in pretty good shape according to bystanders. Not a gnome in sight.

Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
Thats exactly what the news article was based on... glad someone knows it :)
Re: Where In The World Is Crispian Mills?
How odd. I'd completely forgotten about Kula Shaker, then heard 'Hey Dude' twice within the space of an hour on Sunday. It was quite surreal.
