thisGIRL: Album News + Tour + Support Lost Prophets

DiS Records and British rock's finest thisGIRL announce album details...

Three weeks and counting 'til the very first album on the Drowned in Sound label, from Rotherham rocksters thisGIRL. It's called 'Uno' (it's actually their second record, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 'Short Strut...'), it's produced by Chris Tsangarides (Black Sabbath, Judas Priest) and it is out on July 12th. There's bits on there that sound like Kyuss at their most space-rock with gigantic bass riffs and then some really quiet lush bits and loads of the jazz drums and odd time changes which set the band apart from the crowd.

If you wanna pre-order it, wander into your local store and ask for DiS0005 thisGIRL 'Uno' distributed by Vital. Or try this handy Amazon link.

The album is preceded by the single 'Hallelujah' which is OUT NOW in shops in the UK and available worldwide online in a digital format which cleverly burns straight to your very own CDR direct from Lightning CD click here.

And to promote the album, one of the country'a most hyperactive live bands hit the road on tour, starting by launching Kerrang! FM in support of their Welsh friends Lostprophets.

"There's bits on there that sound like Kyuss at their most space-rock with gigantic bass riffs and then some really quiet lush bits and loads of the jazz drums and odd time changes which set the band apart from the crowd. "

Just because you've started your own label is no excuse for half-arsed sounding pr statements. "set the band apart from the crowd"? Come on. You can do much better than that.

Incidentally, their version of "Shoplifters of the World Unite" is the best track on that Smiths covers album (apart maybe from Cursive).

Must admit, I can't wait to hear the album. I'm sure his vocals never used to sound as good as they seem to these days.

Stuff I submitted has finally gone up on the website..

I had the misfortune to see TG on NTL Digital (Some NTL Channel) and they were being interviewed by Toby Anstice (sp?) now it's not that TG were bad, just that Toby seemed to know sod all about music and asked the dumbest questions I have ever heard!
