New York City’s Longwave have had a busy 2002 and there looks to be no signs of them stopping. 2003 sees the release of their major label debut ”The Strangest Things” and in this edition of 7 Questions drummer Mike James answers our strangest things

1.What is your favourite cheese and why?
Havarti cheese. It started in Copenhagen one night, and now I'm cooking it in with my tomato sauce for pasta dishes. Ripe.

2.What’s the best thing since sliced bread?
Harmony. Melody. Rhythm.

3.What do you really hate at the moment?
Acid reflux. New hair growings. Bad posturing.

4. What would be the first thing you'd do if you had a really convincing sex change?
Lick a toilet bowl

5. What band do you want people to know about?
How about records they should know about: by Scott Walker, Blind Willie Johnson, those reissue Trojan records boxsets, new Johnny Cash, new Sigur Ros, The Coral, The Fall, Northern State. Just today's magnetic aural flings coming of the top of my head. Tough question for me as you can see.

6. Which member of your band do you hate the most?
They can all suck at their most.

7. Who’d win the fight: The Grateful Dead OR The Undead with burning spears?
The Grateful Dead?
