The NME Awards Tour 2009 (headlined by Glasvegas, also featuring DiS faves Friendly Fires) hit Sheffield last week, and DiS' Photo Ed was down the front snapping away.
Photos of all four acts - the bill was rounded off - or propped up, depending on your viewpoint - by twin hype machines White Lies and Florence & The Machine follow below the dotted line.
DiScuss: Were you there? Did you attend the tour elsewhere? What did Friendly Fires do to deserve sharing a stage with White Lies? And are those capes we see on both James from Glasvegas and Florence?! Whatever next...

glasvegas
are horrible
i missed florence
but tbh white lies sounded the best of the other three bands - well the two songs i heard did anyway! Seen FF twice now and their music, though inoffensive, fails to grab me in anyway. They pass right over me. And though Glasvegas' set got better as it went on it started terribly (Geraldine is my fav song of theirs but it got ruined by waaay too much distortion and bass) and didn't improve enough to save them.
That photo
used for the thumbnail is just brilliant! Good work Wolstenholme.
The Glasvegas frontman looks very Dick Valentiney in those pics
good man himself
what's with all the capes on this tour?
ps. LOL at the Glasvegas one
Haha, I like Glasvegas
but what is he wearing?
Great shots.
