The type of game we've really got to be winning if we want to qualify - we're in decent form, which just makes everyone more nervous.
Republic of Ireland v Gibraltar
I've decided, for no real reason, to hope that Gibraltar get absolutely destroyed in every game they play.
Don't know what other games are on.
as i'm going to Dulwich Hamlet first. Has to be a win
might put my Germany top on under my Scotland one
No idea pal.
Enough to get anyone out of their lawn chair.
"I think it's important to state how big a country China is."
HE'S HUMAN AFTER ALL ANDY
almost like reverse swing in cricket
the 17th best goalscorer in the world right now: http://kumb.com/story.php?id=127863
Kyaw Ko Ko (Yangon Utd) in 14th spot - bloke's on fire
I'm afraid he's just not in the same class as Cesaire Gandze of AC Leopards de Dolisie though.
but on reflection I think a point last night was probably about right. Seems likely it's going to come down to the Bosnia away game whether we qualify or not, but the performance last night (without Ramsey or Allen) was actually pretty decent. Nice to watch it at a (nearly) full stadium for a change as well. Hope that continues (it probably won't).
surprised Durm is starting and Max Kruse isn't even on the bench.
Durm is a left-back
such a brave header. So brave.
still don't understand why or how I stopped hating Germany
fucking hell what does that do to this already mental group? what a win though
Barely completed a pass. That's another player Mourinho's ruined.
Sounds like he's settled down, and in any case the two of you live at opposite ends of the country.
No, really, as in the football itself, not just the potential for swapped shirts at the end. Three teams can still win the title with 20 mins of the season left. Chelsea, the heavy favourites, 1-2 down at City but coming back into it. Birmingham and Liverpool, i thiiink, each drawing their games.
Chelsea bottle the title, Birmingham throw everything at Notts County late but can't score, Liverpool win it. Wrightylew, eltham_matt and the hockey fan should lap it up, about as close as they'll ever get to a title, OI OI!!!
the new Bolton manager. He fits exactly NONE of the criteria that Gartside set out for his search but never mind cos he interviewed well. Yay!
not so much the other two.
and delph plays for aston villa.
Ref's giving fuck all, should've played Cattermole and Shawcross.
How can Milner not be playing? Boring bastard or not he's been the best English player in the Premier League this season. This is precisely the sort of game that his just-about-competent-enough wingplay's needed.
Then I did another one here
Now its now
can't work out who he's picked instead (delph and henderson??) but those two are surely better flat track bullies
whose kit matches their flag. this is my one observation so far
Chambers looks terrible, should definitely still be in the under 21's behind clyne and #Jenkz
playing averagely in a one man team last year?
he's still massively massively carrick.
No idea why the lie persists.
plays a very versatile midfield role, and tends to be very tidy and efficient with position, which allows attacking midfielders and strikers to remain further up the pitch instead of coming deep for possession.
Don't think England's midfield and build-up play is bad at all but the side is crying out for a Carlton Cole-type figure who a) doesn't constantly wander halfway up the pitch in search of the spotlight and b) doesn't piss himself even when he does get the ball in the box.
We've got no fucking players, so there are no right or wrong answers. Just tried to put mine together and there's no way around it, we're fucking shite. Think i'd go as below. Clyne's not really proven yet but he's not Kyle Walker or Glen Johnson. Barry would be papering over the cracks and i don't think he should get a recall now, but i can't really think of anyone better at what he does. Rooney does the business in the qualifiers generally but he's a cunt...
(4-3-3) Hart, Clyne, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines, Milner, Barry, Barkley, Sterling, Sturridge, Welbeck.
baine, jagielka, cahill, walker, milner, sterling, walcott, huddlestone, welbeck, sturridge
Anyway, we all agreed with the following in the end...
Clyne Cahill Jagielka Baines
Sterling Barkley Lallana
Bench: Hart, Dier, Shaw, Delph, Walcott, Rooney, Rodriguez
Wouldn't have any major complaints with that team, really. Forster needs a bit more time at a good level, though, he's basically got about twenty career games outside of pub leagues.
let alone there being one on here who gets banned.
Also, no one in the history of this website has been banned more times than you.
Not sure on Baines, Jagielka, Milner, Barry.
I'd be tempted to play Tomkins in CB. Lallana would make it in too. Maybe Theo over Sterling. Slim pickings.
We'll smash 'em 0-1 now.
love's shouting aggressively at players he's fouled
they need to get andy townsend on now.
300k a week. three hundred thousand pounds.
aren't you like 31? jesus
Mad how you always lash out when anyone points out the hypocrisy of your posts.
it's alright, i know it must be depressing being reminded about how you post like a 17 year-old troll on reddit so i'll leave it be for now xx
i dunno if you've forgotten that i've actually met you or what
We have different opinions on a famous footballer. Get over yourself.
but you really, really remind me of football-mad classmates I had when I was about 12, who would cry and whine when their team lost, take the most petty digs at any team that was better than theirs, laugh at the misfortune of other teams, and never, ever reflect constructively on the strengths and weaknesses of their own team. Being able to admit that, say, a big name, big money signing has been a flop doesn't make you any less of a fan than if you don't. In fact that honesty and constructiveness would make you a better supporter of your team than perpetuating an air of delusion around yourself.
But he's really been next-level-shite here. The fouling is getting dull now too. Bring on Lambert I suppose.
the only football on this weekend and it's the equivalent of something like everton vs sheff united and it's 0-0. fucking rubbish. fuck off international football.
top, top player
For me, it's a strong 1.5.
which far outstretch and oversell his all-round contribution is a marvel of the modern game.
every time a commentator merrily mentions another genuine great he's close to smashing the record of.
Hopefully Falcao and RVP keep him out of the United team, and Welbs becomes a superstar at Arsenal and keeps him out of the England one.
[Obviously that's not going to happen, but let's keep hope alive]
Hodgson can't drop him, no matter how badly he plays, because the "narrative" of chasing the record has been picked up so much by the pres. If he hits a barren spell, we could be looking at Rooney leading the line aged 40 looking for the couple of goals he still needs to top the charts.
in the hope a game I watch brings back the spark I haven't had for years.... this game didn't do that, it just reassured me that 9/10ths of the England international team are a massive waste of space.
watching an England qualifier is probably not the best bet.
Truly, a great signing!
