The ensuing game of clove roulette with every mouthful is quite the thrill.
especially softened by cooking slowly in a curry
as when I used mine a few weeks ago I'd discovered it was 3 years or so out of date (!!!!)

seriously. The fresh stuff is too expensive and it cooks down to about half a forkful. A tin you get loads to play with, add it to curries, stick it in pasta, whatever.
I moved house recently and did a look of planned meals to use up stuff. There was a miniature of teachers that I used for bread and butter pudding, had been there for 14 months. I've got fajita mix from a year ago but I think I'm gonna make fajita this week (I went to a really good Mexican place on Saturday and want nothing but Mexican food now).
Fajita mix does not age well. It'll come out in clumps.*

disgusting stuff that I swigged at midnight on top of the ferry in the middle of the ocean on that trip. Never touched it since.
