Undoubtedly yesterday's biggest story was United's gobsmacking 20 million swoop for Cheik Tiote, as predicted by pfffffthahahahahahahaha.
Let's get back to the business of kicking a ball in the general direction of some posts shall we? The European champions will be quietly glad that their utter humiliation at the hands of some part-timers from Iberia was buried under a million pictures of Clint Dempsey looking wistful, and that they have a short break to lick their wounds. Saturday has two reasonably big London movers Fulham and West Ham clumsily squaring off against each other, a tasty looking fixture against the two sprint-starters West Brom and Everton, and Norwich likely to pick up their second point of the season against perennial underperformers Spurs.
Sunday has the big dogs and the underdogs, most of whom are likely to be showing their new fancy men at one point or another. We may even get to see the fabled Alex Buttner strutting his stuff.
There's probably some stuff happening further down the leagues which I will fuss myself with a bit later.
