In year 3 we were learnding about logos and we had to design a new logo for an aeroplane tail based around our local water company or something, so I drew my little heart out and in a classroom vote won with a top score of about 6 votes
In year 4 I won the paper aeroplane making open air distance competition
Also in year 4 my I released a balloon in Ringmer which was found somewhere a long way away like Uckfield or someplace even further and won a purple and pink Parker biro pen.
I also won a small Brio train set but I don’t know why I won that. in fact I’d forgotten about that for probably about 20 years, that’s really made my day remembering that. well done, me. :D <---- that’s not just an emoticon, it’s actually what I’m doing now.
In year 5 I won at backstroke but didn’t qualify for regionals. I even more scared of people in those days than I am now, so that was quite a relief.
In year 6 at a different school I won the paper aeroplane making indoor distance competition which was refereed by my mate’s dad who was a BA pilot. My plane flew from the back wall all the way to the top corner of the opposite wall, and it would still be flying now if that pesky wall hadn’t got in the way.
In year 6 I also won backstroke at my new school, even though I spent the first few seconds trying to ask the teacher why everyone was getting away with a false start.
