So. It begins. Again.
Premiership Also-ran Saturday features a bunch of asset-stripped teams nobody particularly cares about versus a few skinny necked whipping boys who will be hoping upon hope they haven't overstretched themselves in the transfer window. Good luck to them all, except when they play against the team I support. In the Championship, Wolves kick off their return to the second tier against a bare-looking Leeds side, there's a Lanc derby Verbal will talk to death whilst Derby face an ambitious Wednesday. Sheffield United will start the task of overcoming their crushing disappointment last season against Shrewsbury in the second tier.
Sunday has the ever unpredictable Wigan against the NEW AND IMPROVED Chelsea, who although reeling from their Charity Shield humiliation as they may be will be featuring any number of exciting new faces up front. Probably the pick of the new boys Southampton are at Eastlands. Could be a cricket score, probably won't be.
Monday has a beefier-than-usual Everton against Spender Percival. Thin away victory, absolutely nailed on.
Arsenal 3 1 Sunderland
Fulham 2 0 Norwich
QPR 4 1 Swansea
Reading 1 1 Stoke
WBA 1 0 Liverpool
Wham 2 1 Villa
Newcastle 2 1 Spurs
Wigan 0 1 Chelsea
City 3 0 Southampton
Everton 1 2 United
