Oslo tonight, 25/07/2011
somewhere about 200,000 people turned up for tonight's demonstration/memorial (we are a city of less than 600,000 people, a significant amount of which are now on holidays elsewhere). speeches by the prime minister Jens Stoltenberg; the Labour Youth Party (AUF) leader and Utøya survivor Eskil Pedersen; the crown prince; the mayor of Oslo, Fabian Stang - and others.
to be there and experience 200,000 people hold roses and other flowers high up in the air and spontaneously burst into song, was truly an awesome experience and something that will stay with me, and every single person who was there tonight, for the rest of our lives.
