the one in Oregon. i'm going there tonight. if you have been there, what do you suggest I do there?
Go to the Amnesia brew pub. It's great.
Walk around some of the parks. It's a pretty city.
oh no wait maybe i misrembered that
The magic is in the hole.
Where you'll play a casio keyboard while two beardy guys make chipmunk noises and bang on pots and pans. I'm pretty sure that's all that goes on there.
just cos you can
Go to Ground Kontrol:
There was a really good cheap wee sushi place nearby too.
Holoscene was a really nice gig venue, if I remember correctly.
Portland is ace, enjoy!
write a zine
grow a beard
get some sick tatts
go unicycle juggling
join the permanent animal rights protest outside the one fur shop in town
It's quite a nice place really.
Probably the best book shop I've ever been to.
i think it was called Cha Cha Cha
so yeah, go there
also, Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden are both lovely if you fancy a bit of nature
i remember going to bars but don't remember which one
oh oh if you're on Hawthorne the Bagdad cinema there was cool in a kind of let-you-take-in-pizza-made-on-site-and-micro-brewed-beer way but you don't like beer and probably won't want to go to the cinema
Stumptown coffee is incredible, drink that. wait, do you even like coffee?
go see my best friend who lives there, idk
i've been here about an hour, in walking from the train station to my hostel I saw more joggers than I saw homeless in San Francisco. it's pretty incredible, except when you're dragging a suitcase down a narrow street (AND WHAT'S WITH THE LACK OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS) and they're swarming around you and it feels a bit like the stampede scene from Jurassic Park.
thanks for suggestions team.
I was meant to be getting the train from here to Chicago, which goes across your own Montana, but due to all the crazy flooding I've been rerouted south via California. this also means it's two trains instead of one, and takes a day longer, and I'm going to miss most of the Friday of Pitchfork fest :'(
