apparently it came out last week. is it good? i'm still a bit outraged by the idea.
I share your doubts, but it got a really good review in the Observer, haven't read anything else about it.
Sub Topic: Obviously the first 2 Hitchhiker's are the best, but which is the 3rd best? I reckon Mostly Harmless.
i expect it to be funny, as the two episodes of the Book at night thing on radio 2 were impressively funny, if a little odd. one thing i don't like: the guide entries are now "Guide Notes" which... hmmm
But i'm a big fan of Eoin Colfer and his books so... hopefully it'll be good.
Especially if you know the radio series.
the final scene with Marvin in So Long... is probably my favourite scene in any book evarrrr.
So Long and Thanks For All The Fish is a more thoughtful book, or it's different enough that aged 11 I didn't really enjoy it like I enjoyed the others. I seem to remember Mostly Harmless was pretty good but the first three just have the edge for me.
It's probably okay as those Artemis Fowl books seemed good, but still. It's just not on.
a little cheesy at times but i enjoyed them. i have them. all.
My manager used to get them for his kids and then bring them in and read them and lend them round. But after the third his youngest was too old to care and he couldn't be bothered ordering them just for him to read.
I'm more curious than excited
really I'd prefer to read the second Dirk Gently book first, the first one of those is brilliant
definitely read that first
