GI Joe: THE RISE OF COBRA

guntrip [Edit] [Delete] 00:45, 13 August '09

I went to see this tonight. I have come away with the opinion that they at one point they had a bog-standard action flick, but then they brought in a guy whose entire purpose was to suggest ways in which they could make it TOTALLY AWESOME, instead of at all rational or logical.

"So GI Joe have a secret base? Yeah, that's pretty cool... but what if they had a giant underground base in the middle of the Sahara desert? That would be SO MUCH MORE AWESOME!"

"So one of the GI Joe commanders is a wise crackin' cockney? Yeah, that's pretty cool... but what if he was played by that huge black dude that played Mr Eko in Lost? That would be SO MUCH MORE AWESOME!"

"So that guy just presses a button to open a door, and the door opens? Yeah, that's pretty cool... but what if he used a holographic control pad? That would be SO MUCH MORE AWESOME!"

And so on. It was hilarious, from start to end. Totally worth the £4.10 it cost me.

Anyone else seen it?
