let's talk fish and chips
is there still a harry ramsden's in glasgow with a kid's playpark outside? once i caused a large traffic jam at the top of the slide there cos i was too scared to go down and my dad had to climb up and rescue me (H)
i can't remember if i ever went on that slide - was it painted like an irn bru can?
it was always locked with a grate
the kingston bridge towering over it
a gaping mouth thundering
dripping wet, down upon the playpark
painted like a snake or some kind of monstrous reptile thing, which contributed to my fear, but this could be a false memory
i'm having that!
haddock, chips, mushy peas for me, please
*i've only been there once, and that was about 10 years ago, in Nottingham. This experience may not be representative of other Harry Ramsden's(where should the apostrophe go here!!!!) or indeed the nottingham harry ramsden's in general. Apologies.
On the services, on my tod. Wasn't so bad at times, the DAB digital radio tuned to 6Music, and the odd trucker coming in... There are some definite benefits to having your own fryer and batter (battering fruit, battering sweets etc)
But other than that, it was awful.
Joey's war tales! haha..
But this is actually the second 'when I worked at the services' related post this week... :S
I'm not sure if this is common to all branches, but if you go to the takeaway bit rather than the eat-in restaurant and order one of the meal deals you get the most laughably small drink ever. It's approximately one third the size of a small coke/7up, etc at McDonald's/BK, etc
i live near the original harry ramsdens
their chips are second to none; the fish tastes like a manifestation of Eros himself.
