outside Woking station (last night).
"How you guys get any work done with a fine piece of finger lickin' chicken like that around here I'l never know."
Barack Obama on TV, talking about something political.
like Manda Rin giving me the eye on the tube this morning.
I know it wasn't actually Manda Rin, but she was pretty and she looked at me. Twice. And I have no other celeb spottings.
I listened to the first 20 minutes of Zane Lowe's show last night for the first time in about two years. He shouted a lot and didn't tell me what any of the songs were.
he's the type of person that my mum wouldn't let come and play Subbuteo with me.
The sort that would make you draw cocks on the skirting boards.
and he'd probably stamp on the goalkeeper when I'd scored an audacious chip from the centre circle (allowed under house rules).
any excuses to post this quote:
"This album is so phenomenal. Smalltown America, Jetplane Landing, Andrew Ferris from Jetplane Landing, it's a very reputable, very cool, very independent record label. Not those independents that go and sign deals with major labels and get all their money... This is independent, you know. Northern Irish music, Smalltown America, Jetplane Landing is the band, fantastic. Cahir from Jetplane Landing starts this band, Fighting With Wire, they come out and they make this record like a while ago, Man Vs Monster, absolutely phenominal from the start to the end, a flawless modern rock record, completely done independent, flow to the States, sign a big deal with Atlantic Records. It's all coming out in the next couple of months, bells and whistles, the whole thing, and I couldn't be happier. That's the story, here's the record, radios up, no excuses, GO!"
do you know how hard it is to transcribe what he says?
minus the interesting bits. Although I do like Jetplane Landing.
Brilliant. I think he played FWW in the 20 minutes I heard last night. I can't be sure though, it could have been Soulwax.
is how he's introducing FWW, and does so with a spiel that mentions JPL four times and FWW in passing once in the middle.
I thought it was a Jetplane Landing review. An enthusiastic, if cryptic, endorsement, anyway!
may or may not have been Bono
at the train station earlier.
that means it was that guy from Orson.
outside Sainsbury's at Waterloo. He looked a bit confused.
yet alluring? Yeah? Mmm, Giles.
man I wish I wasn't at work
you know he lives around here, right?
I have a brown sofa. Might invite him round for a chit chat.
St Albans Real Ale Fest.
coming out of Piccadilly Circus tube station on Weds, does that count? He looked like he was off to a 'high powered' business meeting.
though i didn't realise who they were until watching transmission lastnight and thinking 'that twat with the silly hat was outside my office building yesterday, i swear', and then confirming with people this morning that yes, in fact, the kooks was ere. wish i'd thrown something/wish i could recognise these young upstart musical types/wish the kooks ill.
getting thrown out of bar ha ha in cambridge with his trousers round his ankles.
