how long do you think this will take?
it's 45 minutes from camden town tube to old st. roundabout, and another 20 from there to rough trade east
okay, maybe 1 hour 10
camden town tube -> mornington crescent tube
-> left down crowndale road
-> bear right down pancras road
it becomes midland road, sticks you out by st. pancras station
then -> pentonville road + city road to old street roundabout
it's not the world's most interesting walk, but i've done the pancras -> old street journey tons of times
hmmm. i'm trying to avoid pentonville road because i'm lazy and it slopes upwards.
HOWEVER what i might do from king's cross is go down gray's inn and then up clerkenwell road.
but then if you're walking for over an hour, 5 minutes'll make fuck all difference, right?
and i don't really want to be there before about half six anyway.
It's one of those things I've always wanted to do though. Not this, specifically, but walking across London. Good luck!
if i can. it's fun! and i always try and take different routes as well..
when i walked from alcxxk's old flat in kennington to mine in tufnell park in the early morning, and i went via soho and a prossie tried to get some custom from me. good times!
If you have a book you want to read I prefer buses/tubes.
but walking = nicer really, providing it isn't raining. although i walked from notting hill gate to the ben crouch in the rain last weekend...
plus, walking makes me feel better about my lazy lifestyle ;)
and how long you'll have to be wet at the other end.
also, there were no buses. so i would've gotten wet anyway. and once i got to lancaster gate it was like a challenge i couldn't pass up.
They're such sluts :(. I walked into a lamppost.
and when that ran out she asked me if i'd like to "go somewhere" for "some fun". looking upon her crack-scarred face i realised that she probably stopped getting any joy out of life several years ago.
I just got asked if I wanted to "have some fun". Obviously I declined. I hate my sex with prostitutes to be meaningless.
I've split it up into three legs and added them together. Which sounds like something Theo would do, but is cooler, because I'm not Theo.
I'm still amazed.
57 mins fast
75 mins medium
113 mins slow
Walkit.com says 57 minutes.
But that's their 'fast' rate which is only about 4 or 4.5 miles an hour. I walk faster than that if I'm taking a fast walk.
I actually only guessed using my speed. That's what some site says?
I'm a genius. Or their model for their fast walking speed. Which seems faintly ridiculous.
4mph isn't really 'fast' at all. I know I can walk at 6mph due to a ridiculous bet invovling a car checking it's odometer and someone timing me (sometimes in my family it's like Competitive Dad off the Fast Show).
i usually come in somewhere between fast and medium. so 1hr 10 is probably about right.
So why not take it easy?
see you at the shop, sweaty daniel
NEXT QUESTION: what shall i listen to?
evans and i got rank deluxe and bomb factory but couldn't remember the third. texting you seemed cheaper than AQA.
i did the Old St - Camden walk on Saturday listening to Alligator :D
Casiotone, Sun Kil Moon and The National.
but good choices.
i also found out today that casiotone is playing somewhere in new york while i'm there with pants yell! supporting :D :D :D
I've never known what it's called but it's good.
that will make me walk faster..
are you the destroyer?
Walking round London is great.
If old colonol_crapspine can do it in an hour, you've got to be looking at 40 minutes maximum.
next time I see you.
His face is quite narrow and hard to hit.
His body not crippling as he tries to swing a punch is his major issue.
walkit.com has been known to give stupid routes from time to time. Although undoubtedly a worthwhile service, I'd review the suggested route prior to embarking to ensure optimum duration
early in the morning - madness.
it took 73 minutes. thanks.
