but the job description actually terrifies me.
this is natural, right?
of "shooting at dem terrorist people" doesn't terrify you?
war does not terrify me. Anyway i'm not going to be doing 'much' of that. Well close up anyway. I will have to at some point, but not much.
General Melchitt in Blackadder Goes Forth.
This is amazing. Oh my. The best. Just...wow.
binman by any chance? Cos you can copy mine if you like
trainee housing support officer.
i work with bin men now. sorta. :(
I used to work in housing. You *really* want to do that job?! Which borough?
and yes. i'm not expecting it to be pleasant, but i'll get more out of it than i do out of my current job, which just involves sending and being shouted at about threatening and, frankly, confusing letters.
and possibly physical violence, being an HSO.
But you knew that already, right?
um, abandoned morality?
the JD also mentions a lot of policy work. eh!
to be honest, i'm totally stuck where i am now. i can - realistically - only move up the department i work in now, which either involves policy work (dull) or becoming an officer (going through rubbish bags) and none of that appeals to me at all.
anyway, hopefully by the end of next year i'll be able to quit working full time for anyone and run the label and do temping and stuff, so it might not be for every long anyway ;)
You could probably work for a housing association and earn more money if that's your short-term goal though. Maybe; I dunno - the public/private sectors are probably a pretty narrow gap in that respect.
I wouldn't worry about losing your morality too much, they're all fucking corrupt. The place I worked for, under it's oh-so-ethical banner, fell to pieces with corruption shortly after I left.
Well, it still stands, but what went on sucked big time.
you could be my boss.
i'm filling out my past employment history. it's ok to only go back five years, right? it's, um, a bit spotty before then, for reasons i'd rather not go into.
