how is your monday? i got wet walking to work, although i realised that if i'd left for work on time i would've avoided the rain entirely. karma, eh?
so had to hobble to work, and had an argument with my housemate. i am in a bad mood.
which would just be unfair
I was on my bike and it started pissing down when i was halfway here, then it stopped as soon as I got here. I now have wet socks.
My alarm made me sad this morning
will keep you entertained all day!
i'm going to bed.
you guys have depressed me with the reminder that there is such a thing as work and rainsoaked socks.
getting to work because I drove. And traffic was bad so I danced in my seat to Ben Kweller.
I am currently feeling positive about this Monday and, in fact, the whole week. I give it until just after lunch time for my perspective to change.
please don't ruin my goal of staying positive until just after lunch time.
i lived there from 13 to 20 (although i lived in luton before then, so bedford was way better). my mother still lives there. i understand ;)
by choice(!) when I was clearly old enough to know better.
Target has been missed by approx. 1.5 hours :(
where did you move from?
via Stockport for a brief period.
I was offered a job here, and I accepted because it was one less thing to think about during finals (and it's a good job for a nice company with a decent salary doing something I actually quite enjoy most of the time that I'm alright at).
It's not so bad really. Good train links to London, easy access to M1 for tripe back to Birmingham & Stockport. It could be worse. That's what I tell myself anyway.
Had a bacon roll. Buggered around on the internet a bit. Actually managed to get in 5 minutes early.
Revelled in the marvel that is Radiohead's All I Need on the way in, and contemplated paying £50 for a ticket just to see that one song live... hmm.
got to sleep at 4 til 7.30
and can't say i feel like doing much
At All from now til 5.
getting the latest bundle of records that I ordered off of Sub Pop last week, with free Thermals stickers. HAPPY TIMES.
what did you get?
Handsome Furs 'Plague Park' LP
Eric's Trip 'Love Tara' CD album (finally)
the Flight of the Conchords CD EP
and the Hutch and Kathy album :D
is schweeeet. i dun't know any of the others though. i should do an order sometime..
And Hutch & Kathy are two-thirds of the Sub Pop Green Day :)
I was mocking alcxxk's (I think) erroneous description of The Thermals as the 'Sub Pop Green Day'. They are far more than that. THEY BLOW MY MIND. I've yet to discover if Hutch & Kathy's own adventures live up to that. I'm looking forward to finding out, and REALLY looking forward to listening to my Eric's Trip album. HELL YEAH.
Oh, also: kudos on the 'very' witty Radiohead reference...
They made me so happy that I puked and went straight to sleep.
The Green Day comparison is based entirely on their being three of them, nothing more. I disagree with it by 100%. At least. They're lo-fi punk rock with Biblical references. Go hunt down stuff off The Body, The Blood, The Machine. NOW. Or there's some MP3's to 'check out' here:
whats their stuff like compared to the thermals?
i still only have more parts per million. must buy more.
did you see this? :D http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/47904-thermals-kick-out-the-jams-for-live-band-karaoke
Best karaoke night ever!! Damn this country.
shame i'd look a bit stupid thrusting my arms up into the air on my own on the train
waiting to see if the postie brings me any cds or vinyl. Will now brew a pot of coffee and decide what to do with the day :)
Teenage Fanclub-Radio 12'
UK Subs-Party In Paris 7'
Kraftwerk-Tour De France 7'
The Dickies-Give It Back 7'

having a coffee break at the moment.
oops we're going back in now *weep*
I'm about to make a cup of tea and am analysing this http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/1621774 inbetween making phonecalls for work.
i hate you!
Needlessly keeping alive the shittest animals ever, just to piss the rest of us off. Pfft.
Someone point out something good in my life, quick, before I just drown the day away in a sea of indulgent self-pity.
they should be more than enough
busy, but good. i should be working right now. i am. get off my case!
to be motivated about writing essays this term has lasted all of about two days, and I now find myself rushing off a crap essay again because I spent most of yesterday watching episodes of House instead of working.
Anyway: I get this thing done by 8 and then I go and watch films with my friends. At least I have something to look forward to.
I woke up refreshed, walked to London Bridge refreshed, got to work refreshed and early and then the poo hit the fan here. Grrr...
But am leaving work early so that's okay-ish.
