Robert Plant looks like he died in about 1988.
I was hoping someone would start this thread. I want to know everything... as am gutted I missed out.**
**Still, I did see 'Plant and Page' back in my god, 1996 with their Egyptian Orchestra - craazy gig... ah, Kashmir...
i made no comment on their performance. as i wasn't there. i was just taking a cheap shot at an old man who's consumed way too many drugs during his lifetime, leaving himself resembling a dried up corpse of a human being.
And yeah, it was a pretty cheap shot but then again, what more can we expect from someone like you at 8.02am.
Who cares about his drug taking - he's had a wild time and life! I'd trade places!
YOU ZINGED ME GOOD ROSE.
which is presumably why you chose the thread title, "some notes on the Led Zeppelin London show".
misunderstand the use of "some notes on...".
I saw them at Reading in 98 i think it was. I remember it being quite cool..but i was very pissed at the time.
I was veeeeeeeeeery stoned but had front row tickets. It was incredible. Best gig of my life so far... I ran into the Melbourne Tennis Centre as the lights went up and the drums of Kashmir began to play and it was like, 'OHMYGODI'VEFOUNDGOD'.
But I've repeated this story many times before in the context of The Zep on this board.. and am sure some are bored with it.
only with more economy of phrase?
Saw him at Green Man and he looked very well-preserved (met him after his set) and sang very well. This is just another example of the snide oldie-bashing which often goes on on this board ;-)
NOTE TO MICK HUCKNALL: be afraid for the future. very afraid.
Aging rocker bashing shocker..
59 you dingbat. I hope to look that good when I'm 59...
some of my best friends are 59.
a Butthole Surfers record.
By Zep's bassist.
Everything links dosen't it.
what that must sound like since i first heard it. i just can't do it.
some american on radio 4 summed it up: 'Jason Bon-ham, hardest working man in rawk'
So there you go then. A band now for people not into music to like - a White Stripes with bass and better drums then.
he could look like Jimmy Page
- dont do drugs kids...unless their free.
he released an album with some woman recently and i thought he was some old folk musician...
i don't know much about led zeppelin. but he looks damn ancient for 59, my dad's only 57 and he looks a lot younger... and he did a lot of drugs too, like. hippie, and all.
and it was the best concert i've ever had the pleasure of watching. kashmir was just brilliant and when jimmy page played his dual guitar for stairway to heaven, it was just brilliant.
woman' is the very well-respected Alison Krauss and it's a very fine album. I think you ought to post a picture of your dad so we can decide...
thats an amaaaazin setlist.
I met Bob Plant about 4 years ago in Brum, he didn't look any older than any other man of his age.
Don't forget though guntrip that when making comments on peoples appearance, those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones ;)
made of bricks
I don't know this for a fact though
That set list made me go all 'aaaaaah' for a split second.
In a most excellent way.
