anyone ever dealth with them in any capacity? experiences etc?
a lot of staff right now..
it is where you get housing benefit and stuff from? i've been there numerous times.
they're a housing association, they manage and own lots of social housing in west london.
this gets censored in the left hand column. excellent.
You mean, like, a garage?
for a week. The people seemed friendly enough but a bit stiff - the office was hardly what you'd call buzzing.
that's where the job i'm looking at is based.
I was sacked for allocating housing to my mates, but it was just a temp job. Weird thing was that nobody seemed to know what to do with me when I got there, so I was doing mostly data entry.
It was a fairly quiet office with not much conversation going on - didn't really get into any conversations there. Then again, I was just a temp and only there for a week.
that actually sounds like my kinda place!
is depressing. I'd be wary of any Housing Association by, well, association!
them very well. chief exec is a good guy. what do you want to know?
do they seem like a decent place to work? are they criminally inefficient in ways that will just irritate me and lead to me doing about as much work as i do here?
i'd quite like to get into Housing, as it's more where my interests and concerns lie. they're advertising for customer support positions at the moment so i'm looking that as a potential way in...
quite good for a housing association. i'm puzzled as to why you want to work in housing though - because it requires no intelligence and is massively well remunerated?
i do that now.
it's just an area where i'm interested in the issues, and where i could vaguely see myself having a 'career' in the long term.
well, moreso than refuse...
9-5, shrug your shoulders and say 'ah, it's really sad but we just don't have enough stock' to people.
and earn 90k a year!
one day i'd like to be in a position to influence change in such matters ;o)
job in a local authority then. or run for president, or something.
there's nothing going at the moment. and i'm more than a shade annoyed with the inflexibility of careers in local government right now.
how long have you been in the job you've got at the minute, like?
it's becoming more apparent by the day how completely useless it's been for getting jobs outside of this service...
